Elliot Dickerhoof started working for Funny Or Die as a Production Assistant when he moved to LA at the end of 2009 and quickly moved his way up the company, joining the staff full time as an editor in 2010 and then creating and selling his own web series, “First Dates with Toby Harris”, to Yahoo later that year.

The first season, which he wrote half of and directed entirely, was awarded “Best Web Series” at the Palo Alto International Film Festival in 2012, and garnished millions of views on Yahoo! Screen.  In the New York Times, Mike Hale wrote about the series, saying, “Consisting of sharply written… textured, funny yet melancholy slice[s] of life that pack cinematic ambitions into its brief running time. The show is proof that the kind of short-form, fragmented Web video now being de-emphasized in the rush toward more TV-like content can be just as rewarding.”

Elliot is currently finishing up his second season of First Dates as director, head writer and co-editor, and is in talks with Funny Or Die to develop the idea into a TV show.  He is also in the process of developing other ideas for film and television, including a half-hour, single camera relationship comedy series with Avalon Television.
